Our systems use GelCool™ gel packs (patent pending).  These gel packs are worn on top of the user's head and interlace with existing helmet shock padding to provide cooling (or winter warming) while maintaining the safety of your personnel.  Our products are specifically designed for major helmet models to maintain the fit and alignment designed by the helmet manufacturer.  While GelCool gel packs are providing cooling they are also rapidly pulling the heat away from the user's head by thermal induction.  This equates to many, many times the cooling possible using only the helmet's small air vents, even though users will invariably perceive that the cooling has ended much sooner.  Laboratory and field testing have shown that significant active cooling continues for up to 30 minutes with our products.

These quick-change packs help you keep your firefighters safe, effective and in-service.  Our gel packs are not a part of the helmet or a helmet attachment, but are a personal cooling device that aligns with the helmet's existing anti-trauma pads or suspension webbing.  Most importantly, GelCool Systems products are manufactured to the highest professional standards, providing the dependable service that professionals require.  Please note: GelCool System's products are not designed to provide protection from physical trauma to the head - our products provide cooling or warming only.  While the body is trying to release 60% of its heat through the head, current helmet cooling consists of passive air flow through very small openings on the top of the helmet.  Since these openings have a very limited passive effect, GelCool Systems places an active cooling system (cooling gel packs) in the upper helmet.

We keep your personnel much cooler, more focused, and decisive.  GelCool Systems cooling gel packs help manage cranial/brain blood temperature, which enhances safety and performance.  In extreme temperature environments GelPacks are worn from the beginning of the exposure, which helps maintain proper cranial blood temperature.  We use a patented thermal distribution system that graduates delivery over a long period of time, avoiding potential discomfort and providing more uniform, lasting cooling.  Unlike simpler wet (evaporative) ice packs and cold packs, or winter stocking caps, GelCool Systems gel packs maintain critical helmet/hard hat alignment, suspension, and safety design.
